In November 2006, PowerTel entered into a strategic wholesale
alliance with Telecom New Zealand. This alliance strengthened
PowerTel’s position as a key player in the marketplace for the
provision of wholesale services.
This alliance evolved into a proposal from Telecom New Zealand
to acquire PowerTel in January 2007. This acquisition was completed
on May 10th 2007.
